Day 7: WINTER HAS ARRIVED

The heart of a great project begins with great participants. Here in Estonia, we have the very best. Add to this a brilliant, well structured and well delivered programme and you have a truly unforgettable experience that will change your life and live with you forever. Every day has brought a new adventure, a new experience, a new inspiration, inventive workshops  and motivational visits.

Today began with a performance from Billy giving his perspective of the week in a poem.
The rest of  the day was a work day. We started by completing the booklets from yesterday, thanks to those that did so much work to finish these great booklets.
Then we split into small groups and started to work on developing projects. We focused on the needs for our chosen projects then the aims and objectives using the NAOMIE method. Everyone have uploaded their work to facebook site and it looks like we could have some great partnerships in the future (I really hope so, you people are all so amazing that I hope now we all continue to work together for years to come).

It now really does feel like this great adventure is coming towards it's end.

WINTER HAS ARRIVED (here in Estonia)

We arrived a day early in Tallinn
This wasn't really the norm
A group of excited boys and girls
All sharing a hostel mixed dorm
What a racket in the bedroom Like a helicopter overhead
Alexandra found a way to stop this noise
By shaking Billy's bed

First work day, mission impossible
Name games and meet and greet
Poor Eleri with loads of t shirts on
And dozens of socks on her feet
Did we achieve the impossible task
Well maybe it's in doubt
Because Ibrahim did a couple of tasks
But left Kristi and Heleri out

First of the Intercultural nights
Providing a drink and a snack
We learned from the Welsh presentation
That we should burn the Union Jack
Then Billy led them all in a dance
Where the ladies could gracefully twirl (well some of them anyway)
But Kalil had other ideas
Inside, Outside, LOSE the girl

We decided to play a social game
Called Werewolves of Sleepy Hollow
But when I was explaining the rules
Some found it hard to follow
NO TALKING when you are called at night
Is the basic rule of the game
But when I woke up Cupid Kalil (I said CUPID)
He called out Monti's name

Next day was adventure day
Canoe in teams of three
Frightened Taline, Nefeli and Kalil
Then came Morgane, Jeni and me
With teamwork we rowed into first place
The Polish team got upset
It was great until we hit the rocks
And ended up soaking wet

This adventure wasn't over yet
Heleri wanted to inflict more pain
So she made the brave ones wander the woods
In the pouring bloody rain
By now we also had another task
To take care of our secret friend
I left chocolate and socks for Amina
But she caught me in the end

Next day we had some workshops
about Erasmus plus
And they chose the groups by using names
Of the most experienced of us
Yousef chose Alfonzo
To start the next group game
Alfonzo or Shincenzo
To Yusef it's all the same

I ended up with 4 lovely girls
We chose Job shadow as our theme
Then we had the Kahoot quiz
And they became the Jobshadow team
Ufuk then opened the World Cafe
Which really made it's mark
Great snacks, great drinks, great waiters
Snow White Kristi turned into a shark

Then came second intercultural night
And a new character we'd never met
Who was part of a presentation
That I'm sure we will never forget
Make a stage with some chairs and a blanket
From Madeira they know how
To make a puppet with a stick up it's arse
C'mon Lydia, take a bow

Next day BEST DAY EVER
Youthpass the genius way
Going from table to table
Doing tasks, learning skills, fun and play
We even sung songs and wrote poems
And sharing lots of tales
And I finished with my National cry
C'mon EVERYONE, "We are Wales"

Open space was a lot of fun
especially for me
I watched Helen fall out of a frying pan
And Nika pee on a tree
Alexandra became Ana's new jacket
And Jeni part of a car
a brilliant day of activities
The best for me by far (11.5/10)

Armenia and Georgia were sisters
presented to us that night
By our beauties Tatev and Ana
A truly lovely sight
Bilyana looked very elegant
So did Nika in National dress
And Michal and Milde did Poland
Where of course their Vodka's the best

Then we had a torture day
The sessions were so deep
We had to make the booklets
But all I wanted to do was sleep
We finished this day with a sauna
For those that could stay awake
Poor Lydia faced a terrible sight
As Billy's bare butt waded into the lake

So it's off to Maarja Village
I was sleeping on the bus
God knows what the children were doing
Making all that noise and fuss
The village though is wonderful
With amazing things to see
Working with young people
To be the best that they can be

Then we went to Tartu
And wandered round the streets
But it didn't take Alexandra long
To find the cakes and sweets
And then we went for pizza (cheer)
The end the hunger moans
And finished the night in the perfect way
Watching Game of Thrones (winter's here)

So now my poem is ending
Time is running short
It's my turn to blog at the end of today
To show the things I've been taught
So much fun and such amazing friends
Sometimes funny, sometimes silly
I will love you all forever
From your crazy Welsh friend....Billy
